vKBT in CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The vKBT Lab Online Psychiatric Education Network (OPEN), http://www.womenscollegehospital.ca/Education-and-Training/OPEN, project for visual knowledge building & translation design research in mental health for physicians, healthcare professionals & patients was created Dr. Leila Lax and Dr. Valerie Taylor, former Chief of Psychiatry, Women's College Hospital. Research focuses is on: (1) effective visualization of medical/scientific knowledge, (2) design of visual explanations of complex subject matter and (3) illumination of nuanced interactions for the translation of knowledge to practice. OPEN research projects were funded and awarded to BMC masters students. OPEN design research funding is gratefully acknowledged from Women’s College Hospital, Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto, Department of Psychiatry & the Royal Bank of Canada.
